South Hams

The South Hams is simply stunning. You can see why they call it an Area of Outstanding Beauty. From the far-reaching wildness of Dartmoor National Park to the splendour of the unspoilt beaches and coastline, the South Hams is a popular place for tourists, second-homers, faithful locals and those who have left and returned home. It is a difficult place to stay away from and it is a wonderful place to live. That is why our motto of #loveherelivehere is so true to not only our business but us as individuals within the business. We love the South Hams, we wanted to live here, and we made that dream come true.

There are some truly bustling towns in the South Hams – Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes and Ivybridge are all busy, thriving and popular places.

Kingsbridge – our heart and soul and where we are situated on the high street. This town is situated on the other end of the Kingsbridge estuary and is a well-loved town for shopping, cafes and on-the-water attractions. There is even a mini train that runs along the estuary for the kids!

Salcombe – a very popular resort town right on the Kingsbridge estuary with winding roads and stunning views as well as some picture-perfect sandy beaches.

Dartmouth – a pretty harbour town on the River Dart which is home to the Royal navy’s training college. It is a wonderfully colourful town full of life and nooks and crannies with shopping galore.

Totnes – a quirky market town at the head of the estuary of the River Dart which is renowned for its bohemian lifestyle and thriving art and music community. It is easy access to Exeter and even has its own castle overlooking the town.

Ivybridge is known as the “Gateway to the Moors” and situated on the edge of the South Hams. It is a good linking town for commuting to Plymouth or Exeter as it is close to the A38 but still has the charm of a South Hams town.

And in-between each of those bigger towns are some lovely little villages which are unspoilt, have views across the land and sea and each have such community spirit. Whether it be Loddiswell, Chillington, Beesands, Thurlestone, Malborough, Ugborough, Modbury, Noss Mayo…. Each and every village comes with something you will love.
